Auto Auctions

Unemployment rates are the highest they have been in the past twenty five years.  So it’s no surprise that people are more conscious about their spending habits, especially when it comes to purchasing a car.  If you are in the market for getting a car but you are having trouble finding one that fits your budget, consider buying your next car at one of many auto auctions.  Auto auctions are happening all over the country on any day of the week.  There are generally three types of auto auctions:  Auto auctions for vehicles that have been seized or repossessed due to criminal activity, defaulted payments, or abandonment; Government auto auctions for surplus vehicles; and used auto auctions with cars from dealers and everyday people.

Auto auctions have become particularly prevalent online.  Online auto auctions are convenient for people who do not necessarily have the time to attend live auctions.  Most online auctions will list photos of the vehicle, a description, and a list of specs.  The purpose of selling cars at an auction is to get rid of them quickly.  That means the cars will usually sell for prices that are far below market values.  Prior to the auction, do your research on resell values and vehicle history.  It may help to create an account with a car title website to verify a car’s history with a VIN number.
